                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>My system is an EG4 12000Xp with 24 6V Rolls deep cycle batteries arranged in series parallel for 48V, and 1100AH.<br /><br />Panels are nine 445 Watt,<br />OC = 39V<br />SSC= 14.4A<br />2 sided in series in a single string,<br /><br />and on MPPT 2 we have<br /><br />Three 375 Watt,<br />OC = 41V<br />SSC= 11.6 A<br />single sided again in series.<br /><br />The issue is low rate of charge. We are completely OFF GRID<br /><br />I have the settings maxed out, but even with the batteries down close to 48V, I can only get a maximum of 51.5V charge.<br /><br />This same system used to produce 60V (Rolls recommendation) when it was charging through an Outback Flexmax 80 and equalize at 63V. (Panels were series parallel and just the 9 445w at that point).<br /><br />So, what am I missing in the settings? I know I can't get higher than 58V, But I want to see that 58V, or I'll be spending a lot of time and $ with the generator this winter.<br /><br />Is there a software issue? currently ceaa-000707</p>

<p>I have bumped the battery AH by 100 to see if I could trick it into a higher charge rate, but It's raining today, so no can see.</p>
<p>Rolls batteries are using water about every two weeks, have clean tight connections, and are Specific gravity checked. They were working perfectly until the switch to the EG4 a few days ago.</p>

<p>I hope someone from the EG4 technical team or an experienced installer can help me with a question about the EG4 12000XP.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>I have carefully read the EG4 12000XP User Manual, especially section 8.4 (Neutral-Ground Bonding). I understand that the AC input and AC output share a common neutral, the neutral is never disconnected internally, and the inverter can create the Neutral-to-PE bond using the N-PE Connect setting if required.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>However, my installation is very unusual, and I have not been able to find any information about this situation.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The system will be installed in a rural area of Cuba. The utility company does not provide a neutral conductor or an equipment grounding conductor. Only two energized conductors come from the utility line.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>For many years, the house has been powered through an old tap-changing transformer/autotransformer located before the main electrical panel. The purpose of this transformer is not isolation but voltage regulation because the local utility voltage is very unstable.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>One incoming utility conductor passes directly through the transformer, while the other is connected to one of several taps to decrease the output voltage. After leaving this transformer, the house receives approximately 127–130 VAC to power all the household loads. There has never been a dedicated neutral conductor or an earth grounding conductor in the installation.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>I am planning to install an EG4 12000XP with batteries and solar panels, and I would like to eliminate the old transformer if possible and connect the utility directly to the inverter.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>My questions are:</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>1. Can the GRID input of the EG4 12000XP operate with only L1 and L2 connected, without a utility neutral conductor?</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>2. If there is no utility neutral available, should the GRID Neutral terminal remain unconnected?</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>3. If this configuration is not supported, what is the manufacturer's recommended solution?</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>4. Would an isolation transformer or another type of transformer be required?</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>5. If the N-PE Connect function is enabled, can the inverter create the proper system neutral for the AC output even though the utility supply does not include a neutral conductor?</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>6. Is there an official wiring diagram or application note for this type of utility supply?</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>I would really appreciate any guidance from the EG4 engineering team or anyone who has experience with this type of installation.</p>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I saw in another older thread about state of charge. I don't know if it is a technical limitation with the EG4 inverter firmware within or a sourcing of firmware update but SOC to me a game changer.</p>
<p>Right now using ECOFLOW Smart Home Panel 2 with their delta pro ultra and battery. Their smart panel app is able to set a reserve of x% to hold in the event the grid power shut off to activate an emergency power of the battery. This seems like would be a no brainer feature for prolonging the life of the battery and having emergency battery. </p>
<p>I mention this as I'm looking to setup a EG4 inverter for another place instead of using Ecoflow.</p>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>As you can see in the attached files - my parallel 12000xp's (2) have no trouble making power all day long and maintaining a good temperature. The problem is when they stop making inverting significant power! At 4pm my pool heater turns off and my power usage (EPS) drops to its nominal value (less than 1000w, the spikes are my 3 ton AC unit - but you can see it is not a significant player in this problem).</p>
<p>The temps build once the inverter power output drops because the fans are off. Once the temp (tRadiator1) hits ~149f two things happen: The inverter sends me a W013 warning and the fans kick on!.  In less than 60 seconds (usually 30 or 35 seconds), the warning goes away because when the fans are running the temp drops over 10 degrees. Then the fans turn off and the cycle begins again. It did this 4 times each inverter yesterday.</p>
<p>It seems like such a simple fix to turn the fans on when the temp hits 145f - THEN send a warning if the temps hit 149f.......</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>This did not happen last year. The only change to my system since then was when you guys updated my firmware to 508 in December while helping determine if my system was leaking power - I think you also changed the CT Offset to 20 - I have set it back to 0.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>I live in Southern AZ , it was 109 degrees yesterday - the well-ventilated, but not climate controlled area of my garage this equipment is in was 94 degrees peak. Summer is coming! </p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Do you expect me to just ignore the warnings since the unit is controlling its temps just fine? I already have Home Assistant only tell me if the W013 warning lasts more than 60 seconds (and that has not happened yet).</p>
<p>Please propose changing the fan-on trigger to include temps a couple degrees below the warning temperature - IT JUST MAKE BASIC SENSE!</p>

<p>Would like to see in "working mode "AC FIRST" have the options to operate via "SOC" or "VOLT" with conjunction of "time range".</p>
<p>EX: If you have rainy day. Didn't reach optimum charge for the day. Your system can be setup to switch to "AC FIRST" at a preset "SOC"  and time range.  This way you can preserve your battery power incase of a "utility grid" failure and have backup before the next &#x1f31e;  Sun rise!</p>
<p>This would help me out. This is for ppl that wishes not to charge their batteries with "AC Charge"</p>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It is currently not possible to obtain a "Lithium-friendly" CC-CV charge curve when running with open loop (no comms) between the 12000xp and Lithium batteries. User *should* be able to program and manage charge curve by setting:</p>
<p>Type= Li-OpenLoop<br />Vend-of-charge= 56.2(default), and Vfloat=54.0(default)</p>
<p>The result should be a CC-CV curve hitting the target Veoc hit once a day, held for 0 time, and settling to Vfloat. Veoc flag can be reset to detect "night" as any time that PV voltage &lt; 50vDC</p>
<p>I would like to be informed when this bug is addressed, and suggest that it is propagated to to all inverter firmware. I'd love to see it start with the 12000xp and 6000xp since I have several clients installed off grid with these, and I'd like to see proper charging, safety, and maximize battery cycle life.</p>]]></content:encoded>
