EG4 18Kpv no Absorb time

After a month of trying to get an accurate answer from EG4, it appears the accurate answer is that the EG4 18Kpv does not support being able to set an Absorb time with either Lithium or FLA batteries. I've returned home twice now over the past 10 days to find my SimpliPHI 3.8 52.1v battery bank has been stuck in Absorb for 3 to 4 hours. The SimpliPHI batteries I have has a BMS, but no comms. I was told earlier by an EG4 tech, I could set the Absorb, but it turns out that can't be done. So, before I return this inverter, I'm looking for a 3rd party solution so that my battery bank can be managed properly. Ideally, a 3rd party that can communicate with the inverter and end the Absorb charge in 6 minutes as per SimpliPHI as opposed to running Absorb for hours.

Yes, you would need to set the Charge start Voltage setting. Once the battery goes lower that the set parameter, the generator will begin to charge the battery.

Are you communicating between the inverter and the batteries or are you charging and discharging based off of voltage?

@eg4eric, since I am completely off-grid, I really need to find out if the generator will run based on voltage set points for the generator. Do I do this by adjusting the generator charge start voltage within the range of the current battery voltage to see if it starts the generator and charges, or is there a better way? Thanks.

@eg4eric a couple of other things to add regarding the generator. My installer was able to do the "Start GEN Exercise" using the button on the app yesterday. Then today, I inadvertently turned the battery breaker off and immediately we lost power to the house and the generator started. The generator ran for a one minute warm up and I heard a click, but it never started charging or supplying energy to the house loads. Now, the voltage was above the Charge end voltage of 53.5v so that may have been the issue. I switched the battery breaker back on and after about another minute the generator automatically shutdown. I just need to know the generator will come on at the correct set point and charge the batteries/run loads.

@eg4eric yes and it was tested by combining the two wires and it worked.

@eg4eric I had the Gen start set at 50.2v, so the generator failed to activate and start. Still trying to find out if the EG4 will start the generator when it is supposed to.
