Read another post where a user was just missing string 3 and you guys recommended updating LCD. He was on v18, I’m on v22. Station name is Shiloh. I hope this gets that string data to display, thanks in advance! FYI, I’ve got the panels disconnected today (which I often do because I’m producing way more than I’m using right now and don’t want the 100kWh batt sitting at 100% all the time).

Hello. I’m new to the forum and I’m hoping it to get some guidance or direction on what to do about the Solar power system and storage that I had installed on my home almost a year ago. I have 42 Canadian Solar Panels with Enphase Micro Inverters, EG4 18 Inverter and three EG4 12kw Batteries. We have not been able to use the batteries at all without significant problems. When using we a getting significant surges in the home that dim all the lights associated with the backed up circuits, so much so that it causes the router in our home to lose power and reset and at times will power down our TV. This continues in cycles of appx 3 minutes repeatedly. There is also an unsettling electrical sound that occurs at the same time. This happens primarily at night, but sometimes during the day as well.

The installer has been out many, many times. They even replaced the inverter under warranty believing that is the problem. However that did not correct the issue. They changed the breaker and upgraded the wiring to the breaker, but no luck. I believe the installer has and is trying to correct the issue, but they have not been able to correct the problem in nearly a year. I honestly believe they do not know what to do to fix this, at this point.

So I have a very expensive system that does not work. The inverter has been throwing a “Bus Voltage High” fault repeatedly. I have since turned off the batteries at the breaker on the inverter to avoid damage to appliances and electronics. Also, for personal safety. This seems unsafe. Sorry for the long post, but I really dont know what to do at this point. Any help is much appreciated.

I recently added a 280AH All Weather wall mount battery to an existing system. The original system consisted of a 12000xp with (2) 280ah indoor wall mount batteries. A couple months ago I added a third 280ah battery. No issues. This weekend I added the All-Weather battery and updated the inverter and all four batteries to the latest firmware I could find.

12000xp - ceaa-0709
Indoor - S02T25, Z02T11
All-Weather - S02T25, Z02T30

In the app it counts (4) batteries. Under parameters it shows (2) and identifies them as batteries 0 and 1. It show correct detailed data for batteries 3 and 4 vice 0 and 1.

On the web page under monitor it counts (2) batteries on the right and BMS Discharge limit is correct for (4) batteries (800 amps) on the left. The bottom of the page shows batteries 2 and 3 with no detailed data.

Under Configuration/Devices it counts (4) batteries and the correct battery capacity.

Wi-Fi dongle is “BJ” series and provided detailed battery data prior to the updates and addition of the All-Weather battery.

12000xp is connected to master battery via CAN port on the battery and set to Lithium removed link

Batteries CAN EG4/Lux, RS485 P01-EG4

Master battery is set to DIP 1 and original 2nd battery to DIP 2, 3rd indoor battery DIP 3, and All weather to DIP 4. DIP switch settings are matched to the diagram.

Battery communication is daisy chained in this same order starting with the master and ending on the All-Weather battery.

If I only turn on batteries 0 and 1 the web site will display two batteries. Detailed data is not provided for the master but is for battery 1.

If I turn on all four batteries, 0 and 1 are not displayed. Batteries 2 and 3 are displayed without detailed data.

This system has been running for several months now and I thought it was running pretty well. Lately, it has started ignoring "Peak Shaving" settings. If you look at the settings, it should be in Peak Shaving mode from 5:30 to 8:30, am and pm. When you look at the graph, it totally ignored those settings this morning, for no reason that I can see. The load is quite low, and the batteries are charged over 90%. Yet the system just pulled from the grid as if the batteries were irrelevant. This is a pattern that started occurring recently despite having been running properly for the past few weeks. ?????????

It has been exactly two months since installation, and I have had nothing but problems. I have worked with my installer, who has good intentions but no solutions. I have been working directly with EG4 Tech Support, who have been very kind and have a great attitude but have been unable to solve the issues. It has been escalated to R&D, but no word.
The current issues I need help resolving:
panels randomly not charging the battery. If I turn on my dryer, then the panels go from around 500watts to around 3,000 watts. This issue is apparently experienced by others and is being studied by R&D.
Also, when the battery is charged to some degree (not full) the grid will start feeding in (instead of the battery). So I spent $31,000 on this system and am still getting PG&E grid charges. It is random.
I would like to just return the entire system (GridBoss21 outdoor, and two 16 kW outdoor batteries, and 12 440 watt panels). But I don't think it is practical.
I just want it to work so that I am powered by the solar panels that also charge the batteries so they power me at night, and if panels and batteries are low then and ONLY then does the grid come in. It seems like such a simple request and what i was promised, but it has not been the case.
Can anyone help me?

Symptom & troubleshooting, This is a new, recently installed system that the PV never starts up. PV panels can be configured as two banks or one complete bank. Initially tried two banks connected to PV inputs 2 & 3 where PV 2 had ~220VDC on it's input and PV 3 had ~ 180VDC. The MPPT's would never start up, i.e. no PV current pulled by inverter on either input (measured with external voltage and current meter). Also, no PV voltage displayed in any PV (1,2,3) Data, Chart, Voltage measurement. I can physically measure voltage at each PV 2 & 3 inverter input terminals but yet no voltage measured by inverter other than small accuracy related fluctuations. In knowing that this inverter has a MPPT start up voltage of 200VDC. The thought was that I was right at it's minimum so I also lowered the Start PV Voltage to 170V. Still no go. I then configured the two strings into one complete string. This now has a voltage of ~380 - 400VDC. I then transferred this to MPPT 1's inputs. This did not work any better and I still could not see any voltage on PV 1's Data Voltage measurement. I have checked all settings under the maintenance tab and everything appears correct. Even the advanced settings -

Note that other than the above PV issue, all else appears to be working. Batteries can supply power to EPS loads & can be charged from grid.
