similar trouble with the flexboss. I am using a flexboss21 in an offgrid situation. There are dry contacts on the control board. But the only way to switch them is with the "generator exerciser" button in the app. I would really wish for other ways to control the dry contacts on the flexboss.
@srafter2 I m giving up and buying a chargverter. I hate to say it but I’ll find a different manufacturer for it. Not trying to create waves with the EG4 guys they have been great, but I need to resolve the problem asap and they have had months to figure it out
@pawnee thanks for the heads up on this thread. I'm basically at the point of giving up as well. Though I refuse to throw $1200+ at two chargeverters to cover the deficiencies of the 12000XP.
I agree with what was said earlier:
"For people that are running completely off grid these inverters are not a good choice until this is fixed."
Though I would not say it as nicely.
So I still haven’t bought a chargeverter. Tonight the generator kicked on but won’t charge the batteries. It ran a couple days ago and worked perfectly.
in all fairness the last post i made about Gen problems was my fault. I didn’t switch to volts in the discharge settings so it confused the 18K. I would have never guessed that something in Discharge would complacent charging but it did.
Gen stopped brood low frequency. Stated back up after I reset it and it’s charging the batteries. WTH
@britton-beckham @eg4eri, I just got the EG418Kpv and have the same request. This is the third day of having the EG4 and I still don't know if my generator will charge the batteries. I would rather find out when the sun is up instead of when my batteries trigger a generator run in the middle of the night or early morning (which happened on the second day of ownership). At approximately 6:28am this past Sunday, my batteries dropped below the threshold for the generator to run, but the generator did not run. At minimum, we need something to test the generator will CHARGE, not just an exercise run.
