I'm not very knowledgeable on this subject, but can you connect remotely to the 6000xp when the internet is down in a power outage?
Short answer is No.
Longer answer is it depends on what you mean by "internet down." If you mean the internet infrastructure at your installation site is down, then no. If the outage is brief and your local equipment (e.g. you own wifi router) is being powered by the 6000 then you should still have a remote connection.
To illustrate, during my last grid outage which lasted about 20 hours I had access to the remote web monitor site for about 12 hours, after which my 18K stopped communicating and the web monitor site stopped receiving data - there is now a gap in the data history for this outage time. The reason is that at the start out the outage, the internet infrastructure has it own backup power which will last a few hours. Once that goes down, then your remote access will end.
If you're using something like Starlink at your site and keeping it powered by the 6000, then you should be fine.
Yes, when I mean internet down I'm referring to the fiber service provider. We are pretty remote and have had outages of a week or more a few times in the last year or so. My router is supported by the 6000xp, so what options would I have other than the inverter screen?
@ron You can use the local connect app on your phone. Regrettably if you use your gen, you do not have access to those settings through the app (that I am aware of). I am even thinking about getting a cheap little android tablet and mounting it on a wall, having it connected all the time.
Another option is to transfer to StarLink. Not a perfect solution but it does work. A little on the expensive side as well (in both power and $).
My place has no service providers at all, and I use Starlink. For the most part I am up pretty much up all day every day.
I have found a few things that don't like to work over Starlink but not too many.
Thanks,
JB

I have the phone EG4 app on my phone, but what do you mean by "local connect"? I have StarLink for SHTF, but cost prohibitive for everyday backup internet
I see the option on the login screen for the app, thanks. I wonder if I can be logged in on a tablet at home with local connect and also on my phone at the same time?
@ron As far as I know you can have multiple connections to the Web monitor, and you can be connected to the web monitor while connected to the "local connect" as well. I don't know if you can have multiple connections to the "local connect" though. I might have to give that a try. 🙂
Thanks,
JB
