I have a 6000XP off grid with 10 pannels.

Yesterday while using my generator to charge my (6) EG4 LifePower4 Lithium Battery 48V 100AH the system encountered a fault. Now when I run the generator there's no charge going to the batteries. Looking for help!

@johnnyg

Do you know what the fault code was?

Also, have you tried power cycling the entire system?  Batteries and inverter.

Thanks for your interest in helping me!

I should have taken a picture of the screen.

I did see [18]

. There was s face with a frown. I did follow through with a total shutdown and restart.

Here's my situation. We live in northern Minnesota and are not connected to the grid.

Temperatures lately around 30F. For several months I attempted to get the generator charging process to work without any results. Then about three weeks ago I tried again and at the top of the display I noticed for the first time a message "AC Charge", and it was working!

Last night I checked the specs for the batteries and found that 32F was the low limit for charging. My entire system is installed inside a small trailer and I don't have a heater setup yet. I have an electric heater running now on the generator to get the trailer up to around 70F.

@johnnyg

fault 18 appears to AC frequency out of range.

I am guessing that the gen was cold as well?

This is just a guess but, if you allowed the gen to warm up and stabilize for a few minutes before drawing from it, it might help?

Heating this up should help as well.

I am assuming that the fault did clear after the power cycle?

Also, what size gen are you using?

Thanks,

JB

Thanks again. Yes, the fault cleared.

The generator is a Champion dual fuel. Running on propane 7200 running watts.

The generator was cold as well. Good point.

I plan on testing again in about an hour, the trailer should be warmer by then.
