Question Need firmware update for 12000XP? - PV input not working correctly

App wont show an update. Dongle will not connect to a wifi signal I provided. I literally stuck a wifi router five feet from it. I have de-googled and rooted phones, run linux, all kinds computer related things. This is flat out not working.

I give up. I was trying to make a youtube series reviewing this inverter. I will let everyone know it failed. I tried my best.

So after four hours of wanting to put .45" holes in this inverter I finally got it updated. I found you can only update by making the dongle on the unit have its own connection to a wifi router (which is the most asinine thing I could ever think of requiring on an OFF GRID inverter.) The APP on a phone itself won't show an update on the firmware update page, so you have to go to the EG4 Monitoring website on an internet browser after making sure the inverter has its own separate connection.

I hit update firmware and it got to 99% and the inverter shut off. Nothing. It restarted in standby mode and wouldn't respond to anything. I finally figured out that the wifi / internet needs to stay on during the whole process, even though the inverter shuts off, cutting power to the internet and wifi (makes perfect sense, right?) So I powered up two Bluetti's, one for the modem 300ft away and one for the wifi router next to the inverter, so that the wifi would stay running for the entire process. I retried, FINALLY it worked. 

Man, the EG4 engineers have gone full retard. Just give us a zip file. AND A PAPER MANUAL.

Update - few days later everything works great. This is the best inverter I have tried bar none. To my surprise you can even hook up a 120v generator, albeit you can only hook up one leg, and it only powers one leg into the AC load feeding the shop. I can't find an option to power both legs at 120v, with or without a generator running. Going to try messing with the gen-boost option. 

Yes, currently stuck here too with an off grid inverter. Updated the firmware, inverter turns off (wifi router goes down of course), inverter comes back online and is stuck in Standby. Tried restarting it a bunch and can't seem to get it out of standby now. Also, the inverter is offline, not sure why the dongle is having trouble connecting to the internet currently.
