I just had an electrician install an outlet that is wired up to the Generator input on my 6000xp. I have a question before I try to run a generator. I hear some people talk about a floating neutral vs bonded generator... is that something I need to know about
I have a Genmax GM10500XiT which comes with a floating neutral out of the box. should I be all set then?
You may have a problem if the generator's "THD" (Total Harmonic Distortion) is more than 5%. The inverter will reject the power if it fluctuates. Check the specification on your generator. To get around that problem you can use an eg4 Chargeverter - which will accept "dirty" power from a generator and can be used to charge your battery(s) while the inverter is operational.
