I am building an RV electrical system and using a Hybrid mini split A/C 12k btu, my RV has a 96VDC 280A battery bank, can I use it to power the DC input of the A/C directly? I don't want to use an inverter because it is quite noisy. Thanks.
Nah, you can normally not power straight off-the-bat that 12k BTU hybrid mini-Split with your 96 V battery bank. Most of the hybrid solar A/C units are configured to take the DC input of a PV panel, but not directly connected to a hard battery. Although the voltages may coincide, the electronics is not configured to deal with battery idiosyncrasies directly.
Hybrid or inverter-type mini split A/C low power par bhi chal sakta hai — isliye battery ke sath zyada compatible hota hai.
A/C bohat power leta hai (600W–1800W tak).
Isliye battery bank bada chahiye, jaise:
Lithium batteries (LiFePO₄) – best, long life, fast charging
100Ah lead-acid batteries se bhi chala sakte ho, lekin backup kam hoga
Battery ko A/C se connect karne ke liye aapko:
Pure sine wave inverter
Ya solar hybrid inverter
chahiye jo A/C ka startup load handle kar sake (2–3× surge).
Example:
1-ton inverter AC ≈ 800–1200W
Agar aapke paas 24V / 200Ah lithium battery ho to approx 2–3 hours backup mil sakta hai.
Hybrid mini split A/C ka ideal setup:
Solar panels
MPPT solar inverter
Lithium battery
Grid/utility as backup (optional)
