Does anyone have a copy or can someone tell me how to obtain a copy. I bought system components from Signature Solar for a house to be built in MD. Life happens and I now live in VA. I stored components for 11 months and moved them to our current house. My issue is the following; My system has three 280 Amh indoor batteries that total 42.9 kw @100 SOC. NFPA 855, chapter 12 of the IFC, and section 328.5 of the IRC limit the kw of an ESS to 40kw when installed in a basement, utility room or storage room. I would like to install the system in a utility space in my basement. It is on an outside wall and the meter and service entrance conductors come into the basement above and to the side of my planned location. This is where the electrical panels are located. I need to request a code modification from the AHJ for being 2.9kw over the limit. I visited the building department today and was basically told what I would need to do (supply testing documents) but he said it would be difficult.
