Hi, I am researching EG4 18KPV to add battery backup to my home. I already have solar using multiple string inverters and also micro inverters. This is tied into my load panel and they shut off if no sine wave is detected on the AC line.

Question - Can I leave these on my load panel while having the load panel connected to the EG4 Load connection?

It’s not recommended to connect both inverters to the same panel since they don’t communicate with each other. Instead, consider AC coupling to the 18kPV or installing a GridBoss.

For reference, here are some wiring diagrams available on our website:

You can also find more information over the GridBoss here: EG4 GridBoss.

@jared Hi,

Thanks for the reply. Are you saying the EG4 won't allow power to flow backward through the load ports?

The issue I am facing is that my 100amp solar sub panel is on the second floor while the main panel is in the garage and I also plan to put the 18KPV in the garage so I don't have the individual wires from each inverter near the garage.

Thank you

Can anyone please help me understand whether or not Power on the load port is bi-directional or not?

Thank you

@umar I do not have documentation that covers this. However, I will be updating this thread as soon as I receive an answer.
