Hi, I'm looking at adding an EG4 6000XP with batteries to my home, which already has an active solar array with a solar edge inverter.

I'm looking for a detailed wiring diagram/description of how the existing solar would be wired into the EG4 since it would be receiving converted DC from the solaredge inverter. Just assuming existing AC from the solaredge would be tied into the generator breaker on the EG4?

Would love to hear from anyone who has a similar setup and any advice you might have. Thanks!

I'm intending to do the same thing but with a 12kPV inverter and an existing grid tied system that uses Enphase IQ 6/7 micro-inverters. EG4 support says that this will work, feeding the existing solar into the generator port. You have to set up a number of options to enable AC coupled solar. I'll know for sure whether it works once we get ours up and running and it could be different with the 6000 XP for all I know.

You are able to do AC couple, which allows the user to add PV from an existing grid tied solar system. You would need to connect the output of the existing system to the generator input on the 6000XP. There are several YouTube videos available that show how it would be connected. However, before proceeding, ensure that the inverter's firmware is updated to the latest version, 190D0E.

I have a similar situation where I'd like to connnect my existing solar array via AC.  I'd also like to have the option to use a generator at night or if it's too cloudy.  I have an AC transfer switch that I could use to accomplish this but would I need to change the EG$ inverter settings as well?

Yes, you’ll need to disable AC Coupled. The inverter isn’t designed to switch between AC Coupling and a generator, so this transition may not be seamless.

I am looking to add eg4 PowerPro batteries to a SolarEdge inverter. Will it work?

I don't have direct familiarity with SolarEdge inverters. However, if the unit is a 48V system, it's likely that it will work but there will not be any communication. However, I cannot confirm compatibility or expected performance.
