I was just informed that we are working on a firmware to fix this generator cool down issue. As soon as the firmware is available, I will let everyone know.

Thank you for your patience and understanding!

A new firmware update is now available for the 6000XP. As soon as an update is released for the 12000XP, we will notify everyone.

Thank you all for your patience and understanding!

@eric Sounds great sir.  I will try to update my system over the next day or so but before I do I have a question regarding the update as it pertains to my system.  Here is the list of the updates:

  • 1. Added generator dry contact status ON/OFF on monitoring;
  • 2. Improve the battery and BUS over voltage issues;
  • 3. Improve where the smart load power was not accounted for when connected to the grid;
  • 4. Improve where the smart load output had a long disconnection time when switching from on-grid to off-grid;
  • 5. Improve where the power flow display being abnormal in each phase under bypass status.
  • 6. Improve where could not switch to bypass when the PV off-grid status was abnormal in the parallel system;
  • 7. Improve where certain parameters would be reset to factory defaults when changing safety regulations or battery types.
  • 8. Improve where power generation not being saved or cleared;
  • 9. Improve where the dry contact did not work after GenBoost was enabled.

Regarding these, specifically #2 since it applies to battery voltage.  My Indoor Wall Mount batteries have a firmware that appears to different that the standard firmware.  The firmware on my batteries is Z02T03.  Can I expect any issues if I update the firmware on my 6000XP?

No sir, you shouldn't encounter any issues, as this firmware update is designed to affect only the inverter and not the batteries.

Installed the firmware update today.  Did it through the web monitor and ran into a little glitch.  It appeared to have run the first step (xx0Exx) then inverter shutdown power and stopped doing anything.  Called SS and they restarted the update.  All appears to be functioning as of the moment.

Not certain when I will be able to test the gen handover, but I will let you know.

@pawnee Were you able to locate the Generator Cool-Down Time on the monitoring website?

Sorry for the confusion, this would only be for the 18kPV and 12kPV

@eric yes that stopped it from switching back and forth from gen to battery once charge voltage was reached, but still getting a brownout.

You are still getting it when it switches to generator and when it switches from genrator to batteries?

@eric This is how it’s working now.

Charge voltage is reached and the generator stops charging and powering the house. Batteries take over no problem. Generator cools down shuts off and the batteries disconnect from the house for a second or so. After the brownout they reconnect and everything is running normal.🤷‍♂️

@eric Can the 600xp do both at the same time? Can it convert generator AC to battery DC and also invert battery DC to load AC.
