We're getting ready to commission our 18kPV. We have it and the battery mounted on the wall, and the electrician will be coming next week to add a transfer switch and connect the grid and load, etc.
My question is:Can we begin the commission process before the electrician adds the grid and load connections? I'd like to hook up the battery and have all the settings in place before the electrician arrives.

This is possible, and once the grid connections are made, the system will automatically detect the phasing. I suggest connecting the Wi-Fi dongle to the monitoring system before the electrician arrives so you're all set.
