I’ve searched this forum as much as possible but I have not found an answer to this question. The EG4 manual talks about environmental temperature maximums but I’m not able to find an answer to operating temperatures. I currently use SA mqtt output into my own monitoring program to show me various measurements, one of them being inverter and battery temps. But the data I’m seeing is confusing. At 5:00am, when no PV is available and the inverter is in idle mode barely consuming 75 watts, the inverter temp will show 115 - 125°F and the battery might be over 100°F. During mild usage times the same temps might go above 130°F for the inverter and 125°F for the batteries. And I’m talking less than 2500 watts production. The ambient temps of the area are in the mid 70’s.
So the bottom line question is what are the sensors monitoring and what should be these devices maximum temperatures?

I should have added that as soon as I start to use battery storage, or even a combination of PV and battery, the Inverter temp starts to rise rapidly. When I’m producing at 50%, 3000 watts for my shop, the inverter temp goes up past 145F and has gotten to 150F. The unit still feels only barely warm to the touch and no where near 100F. And the batteries in their well ventilated rack are ambient at best. For a 6000 watt inverter I would except at half capacity to only slightly heat up the system.
I’m waiting to hear from EG4 on this as I do boat want to reduce the inverters lifespan.
