I currently have a solar edge grid tied older inverter and optimized solar panels system. Can the E4 Grid Boss be installed in place of the older inverter?

The panels are rooftop and the inverter is on an exterior wall on my house in MA.

The gridboss is not an inverter, it's basically an interconnection device between inverters, the grid and loads.
You should be able to AC Couple the solar edge inverter to the grid boss though.

How about if I used the Grid boss with a 12K Sol-Ark all in one hybrid converter? Would the Solar Edge inverter still be needed?
Normally I would pair the GridBoss with the FlexBoss 21 and an EG4 Powerwall Battery but I am trying to qualify for an ESS rebate and 0% interest loan in MA and EG4 is not on the approved inverter manufacturers list. I am still hoping to use the EG4 battery as I hear that it will work with Sol-Ark.
