Is there any place I can get more comprehensive details on the remote functions, what they do and how they work?
Specifically sleep mode, seems to have no impact on any function. Also when I shut down my unit, the temp automatically resets to 69 and I have to re-adjust it in the middle of the night when I turn on the heat or ac. Sorry if I am uninformed, trying to learn but resources seem limited. The app works great but I have a unit installed in my guest bedroom and they will need to use the remote. If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated.

Page 33 of the manual has a few details going over each button on the remote control.

What is the IR frequency used for the remote? I would like to confirm that I can send/receive IR codes from the remote to a Broadlink IR unit (RM Mini 3) to integrate control of the mini-split with Hubitat or Home Assistant for my Smart Cabin.

I've tried the Broadlink RM4 Pro and this is not working...it only learns ON/OFF button from the remote. The Broadlink phone app is useless.

Side note: The EG4 app, Solar AirCon, has been unreliable with the "Scene" Automation failing to work, particularly if weather "Sunny" is added to the initial conditions required to initiate an action by the mini-split. I've had days and days of cloudless sky at my location in New Mexico and for some reason, whenever "Sunny" condition is added to the automation, it fails to work. I've checked the location to confirm it is correct for my location and don't find a problem with that... Since I am off-grid, this is important to me, so I don't run down my batteries running the mini-split to heat, when I could use the wood stove instead.

BTW - The on-line manual was much more helpful than the document provided with the unit. Thanks to the tip.

Thanks, I read it, Not much detail.

Press the "sleep" button to turn on sleep mode. The fan speed and
temperature automatically adjust.

In what way, I notice no difference. How can I use it and what will it accomplish?

Anyway thanks for the reply, I was hoping to find a more detailed description.

Hello,

I am having the same issue and many other questions about the remote and control of the mini-split. The owners manual is lame, lacking details. My pre-purchase impression of the 12k hybrid mini-split was that the unit had some flexibility in setting the AC power limiter. So far this is a mystery... what is the power limit when this button is enabled?

I cannot determine where or how the unit measures the temperature...In heating mode, if set to 74F, the unit says it reached setpoint of 74F when across the room where the remote is mounted to a wall, the temperature is 68F. Where is the temperature measured from?

As stated by @demodenny, when the unit is turned off and the powered back on, it loses its last settings "memory", returning to 69F and the up/down fan directional vane in the lowest position... Is there a way to change the default position & temperature settings after a reset/power down?

The Solar Aircon app is not much better... same issues but at least I can make adjustments without needing to be in line of sight with the IR remote. It also has several additional buttons, like "ECO" that have no corresponding button on the remote and do unexpected, random things to the mini-split settings... not good.

Suggestion for next generation of this product... Provide it with Z-wave capability so it can tied to a Hubitat C-8 Pro hub and be automated/controlled locally with other devices that help manage my off-grid power management. An RF remote would also be an improvement with an app that is designed specifically for this unit.

The temperature is measured inside the indoor unit.

Is it normal for the settings to revert back to default when the Mini Split is turned off and turned back on.

Is there a way to change where the temperature is measured? Some mini-split (Bosch, Panasonic, etc) units have an optional wall mount thermostat that can be added to allow better room temperature management. My unit is installed in a 900 sq. ft. Tiny Home (cabin) on the north wall... it would help to have the temperature control further away.

Thanks.

Unfortunately, there is no way to change where the temperature is measured
