Is there a release date for the R-454B version of the Mini Split options?

Not that I am aware of. However, I will make sure to update the thread as soon as I have more information on this matter.

I hope I'm not taking the team by surprise. I'm planning to order a system and install it, but I didn't want to order it now and have it outdated in 2 months. I was hoping the team was already in process of the transition and R-454B systems would be available soon.

Some research I've pulled up ...
=====

The shift to R-454B refrigerant in HVAC systems is set to occur on January 1, 2025. On this date, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will no longer allow manufacturers to build residential ducted and ductless HVAC equipment using the current R-410A refrigerant

This change is in response to EPA regulations mandating the phaseout of R-410A by 2025 due to its high global warming potential (GWP)

Some key points about the transition:

  1. R-454B will replace R-410A in most new air conditioning systems starting in 2025.
  2. The new refrigerant has a significantly lower GWP of 466, compared to R-410A's 2,088
  3. Existing systems using R-410A cannot be retrofitted to use R-454B; entirely new systems will be required
  4. While the official transition date is set for 2025, some changes may begin earlier
