I’m setting up my EG4 18kPV in a very simple grid-tie configuration with the inverter connected to a backfeed breaker.

I connected the included CTs to the CT 1&2 port on the inverter and clamped them on my 2/0 copper L1 and L2 mains with the arrows pointing toward the inverter (backfed breaker on the inverter). The system shows 0 W house usage, even after multiple restarts and reversing CT direction.

Using a clamp meter, each main is pulling about 8 A (16 A total), so the CTs should definitely be reading current.

Here is a picture of the relevant CT setting on my 18kPV. Is something wrong here?

Obviously, I have not connected the inverter to the breaker yet as I want the CTs to be properly measuring current before doing so. Is this part of my issue?

When you installed the CT's, did you install them with the arrows pointing towards the inverter?

@eg4eric thanks for the response. I did install them correctly, but what is required for the CTs to report consumption is that you also have the AC wiring connected up completely (which I did not). Connecting the AC wiring fixed it up.

Yes, that’s correct! You need to connect the cables to the Grid port in order for the inverter to start reporting data. I’m glad you were able to get it figured out!
