I've only been on grid with mine for 3 days, I'm doing things a little different but Self Consumption works extremely well for me. I have my system set to AC Charge (trickle charge at night from grid) and self consumption for most of the day and force discharge during the end of my Peak rate period to make full use of my utilities TOU program. Need a little more info on what you are trying to do exactly, but it sounds like in your case could maybe run Self Consumption all the time?
To enable self consumption from your invertor working menu, just disable Backup Mode, Peak Shaving Mode, AC Charge Mode and Force Discharge/Export PV Discharge mode and your system will prioritize charging the batteries from PV or AC Coupled input when there is excess solar and will discharge batteries anytime that you are consuming more power than PV is outputting.
