The reason for this feature request is because Solar Billing Tariff(NEM3) Export Pricing for some IOUs is based on the median of all the hours with exported power no matter how little. So when our EG4 18KPV constantly exports 100-200W, our export rate isn't for the hour we Forced Discharge which had a rate of $1.00/kWh, it's the mean of all ours of the month which often ends up being $0.05 / kWh.  Without a way to have Zero-Export for all periods but during Forced Discharge periods our Export Pricing rate drops considerably because, as mentioned, of all the included hours with super low export rate values.  Some of those hours the Export Rate Pricing is $0.001( .1 cents per kWh )!

Off-Grid Mode does provide Zero-Export but cycling from off-grid to on-grid multiple times per daily will increase wear on the relay and I worry that will lead to a wear and failure issue over the years.

See in this image how there are many hours of very little export and all 24 hours have export even though we only wanted to export for the few hours with higher export rates..

@eric thank you. It's an important feature for anyone wanting to use the inverters for NEM3 based export since the utilities are making it difficult to use excess stored battery power while at the same time they are telling world+dog that NEM3 restrictions/hoops are to motivate people to add batteries and help the grid loads.

From what I've seen, PG&E( northern CA ) sets up their rate schedule on a month to month basis where they keep the weekday rate hours the same across the 5 week days and have a 2nd rate for the 2 weekend days. Southern CA(SDG&E) on the other hand has rates changing throughout the month day by day. They list weekday and weekend in the rate schedule but I've seen even weekday rates vary within the same month.

With zero-export functionality while having Force Discharge enabled we can get some return on the investment and give them what they say they want in exporting to the grid.

@dougl I totally understand! Although I can't promise anything, I can definitely let them know.

@eric, with the EG4 18kPV is it possible to greatly lower or eliminate the constant backfeed of power in on-grid mode by adjusting the CT adj setting( CT Power Offset )?

Not at the moment, the only way to stop the back feed would be to enable off-grid mode.
