Hi, hoping to get some basic starter help for this inverter.
I purchased this EG4 "8K" inverter secondhand. The manual (EG4-8KEXP-240-Manual.pdf) matches the inverter perfectly, yet the sticker on the side of the inverter uses the model name 12KEXP-240, so I'm a little confused about that.
I suspect I need to update the firmware on this thing. It came with a "Solarman" wifi dongle that I was able to connect to my Wifi network, but I have not been able to register it with the Solarman app or website yet. It seems the previous owner may still have the dongle registered to them so I might need to get a new dongle. Should I get the same "Solarman" dongle, or is there a more proper EG4 dongle for this inverter that will make my life easier? And where can I get the latest firmware for this inverter? When I look at the firmware download section of this site I don't see the 8KEXP-240 nor do I see the 12KEXP-240 model. Is this model so old that I can't even get the most recently firmware for it? And do I need a specific type of dongle to make it do the firmware update?
