6000XP with the wallmount battery, newish install. Seemed fine when I was there on the install, but may not have stayed long enough to see the issue. Client called and said that every 10 ish minutes the inverter drops AC output for a few minutes. I went to the site and sure enough it happened while I was there. Inverter kicked off AC and then displays warning 27. Occasionally trips battery breaker according to client ....  any clues?   Otherwise charges up fine from PV.    station name: Puamanu

Warning 27 indicates either a low battery voltage or a communication issue between the battery and inverter, preventing the inverter from receiving the correct data.

  • Make sure you have the Lithium Type set to 1.
  • Make sure the battery is charged, and that the voltage is above 40V.

Let me know if this helps or if you need further assistance!

@eric Is the battery type something you can remotely change? This inverter is very remote ...... I thought it was 0 for EG4 on the 6000xp and 1 for 12000xp but the last 12000xp I set up at latest firmware seemed to show 6 for EG4 .... so a bit confused here. The station name is listed in my prior post if you can find it, otherwise I will swing by Saturday and set it to 1.

For the WallMount batteries, the Lithium type will be 1 for all the inverters.

I did see that you were able to change it. Has your client had anymore issues?

@Eric   Aloha Eric, I was able to go to site and change it. Waiting for results, crossing fingers!  Thank you

Unfortunately client reports it continues to drop out power ...  they said 2pm 5pm and 9pm it reset yesterday.  One thing comes to mind .... the 6000xp only has single battery lugs, so there is only a single 2/0 cable going to the powerwall. Do I need to make a busbar out of the two provided 2/0 cables and then run a 4/0 cable into the 6000xp lugs?  @eric is there a way to dial in and check out what is happening?

I did take a look at the system but did not find anything indicating that the system is losing power. I don't see any warning or fault codes.

What is the protocol set to on the battery? This sound like it could be a communication problem between the battery and inverter. Are they turning anything on when this happens?

Can you post some pictures of the system and maybe how it's wired as well? I don't see anything indicating the power going out.

I recommend deep cycling the battery down to 20% at least once a week. You may need to switch the protocol to lead acid mode to help balance the battery cells, as 100% is currently showing at 53V when it should be around 56.2V. This will also help determine if the power loss is due to a communication issue.

@eric Hello Eric, I changed the system to lead acid battery type and customer reports it seems to have resolved the issue of it dropping out once or twice a day for 10-15 seconds. I did not get picks of the wiring as I did have the time pull the cover, but its a very basic install as there is no grid, no generator cord. I will go there this weekend and draw it down to 20%, and can pull the cover for pics for you. I will post a few pics then .... So if its a comm error, should I try to replace the comm cable after the SOC gets closer to the actual voltage and then swap it back to lithium iron ?

i recommend leaving it on lead acid for a few days and make sure that the battery is charging fully to 56.2V and discharging to about 48-49V.

After this, you can switch it back to lithium and just make sure that the communication cable is connected correctly and that the protocol on the inverter is set to 1 and EG4/LUX (CAN) on the battery.

Yes, please post some pictures, if possible, to make sure the cables at the correct ones and that everything is good to go.

Please keep me updated.

@eric  it was setting the warning 27 when I was there but it cleared up very quickly and then restarted providing power. Not sure if its still setting a 27 when it is happening now. The protocol on battery was set to CAN EG4/LUX ..... I don't think there is any correlation with loads, when I was there was literally just LED lights on in house and no client activities. Maybe a refrigerator compressor could have kicked on or something but nothing obvious. They are used to living on battery backup and don't have any high draw appliances.  Is there a log on the battery itself that I can view somehow or displayable on the Inverter without having the station on my phone?

@scottmr808 If you are able to check on the inverter - Setting 22 sub-settings AREC and EREC, you may find additional information (other faults or warning being thrown).  It will cycle through the date time and record.  Kind of a pain but it can be useful.  Also, you may try swapping out com cable(s).  Double check that the cables are run to the correct ports.  Make sure that there are no "tight" windings on the cable, no sharp bends etc.

When I have run into persistent comm issues, one thing I do is to remove the comm cable from all raceways - unplug it fish it back out of system and run from bat to inverter in open space to avoid any interference from other cables.

Just some ideas....

There are logs on the battery, as far as I know they are only accessible through the touchscreen on the battery.

@joel-brodeur thank you, I checked last time did not see anything accessible but perhaps did not look close enough and will try again next visit

@scottmr808 On my batteries the logs are under settings-logs.

But for some reason my batteries have a strange firmware installed.  Not certain why or what it means (still waiting on an answer for it).

I will double check here in a bit and let you know what I see on mine.
