Glad to see EG4 working on an updated app. I hope it solves some of the issues from the old mobil app. First impressions are as follows:
@rayborbon
Thank you for pointing that out. I'm not sure if it's just a bug but we will definitely look into that.
If anyone has any other feedback or bugs you have run into, you
can report them here ⬇️
EG4 Connect Bug Report - EG4 Electronics
Just to be clear there are 2 specific issues I see
1. I can scan wifi networks and it fails (often taking very long)
2. If it does ever finish the scan it will automatically select the dongle which I am not already connected to. Additionally, the app always finds a single dongle even though I have 2 of them up and running
I have uploaded this video to share the experience of #1 above.
Inside I also demonstrate the previous app and connectivity works with it...
@rayborbon
I was able to test, and you are correct, it does not load up any Wi-Fi networks. I am definitely reporting this immediately to our team. Thank you.
@rayborbon
You have to make sure you are connected to the dongle network first before you scan. When you scan, the dongle is scanning for the Wi-Fi networks not the app. Therefore, if you are not connected to the dongle network first, it cannot scan any Wi-Fi networks.
You are correct. I do see that now. Thank you.
@rayborbon
I was informed that you may need to disable your phone’s cellular network, so it doesn’t try to use mobile data and instead connects only to the Wi-Fi network.
The new app misreports consumption.
@eg4eric Thank you, Eric. Note, submitting to that site doesn't provide any feedback. No confirmation email, or way to check the status.

I'm not sure I'd anyone actually tested my scenario. It's important that someone at eg4 tests it
Even if I disable my cellular network the second bug exists
Scenario 2 wifi adapters. That's 2 inverter chargers
Now disable your cellular.
Now connect wifi to one of the dongles
Launch app
Dongle connect
Scan wifi
Right there. The app discovers the wrong wifi every time and it never finds the second wifi
You actually have to test it instead of relying on what a developer tells you.
It's absurd that you expect customers to disable their cellular network.
Who makes this app? Grade school kids?
