Glad to see EG4 working on an updated app.  I hope it solves some of the issues from the old mobil app.  First impressions are as follows:

  1. Starting up the app on my Samsung Android smartphone requires a refresh (drag down from top of app) to refresh and connet to my 18kPV.
  2. Less information on home screen compared to legacy app.
  3. More clicks to get same amount of data available on legacy app home screen.

@rayborbon
Thank you for pointing that out. I'm not sure if it's just a bug but we will definitely look into that.

Just to be clear there are 2 specific issues I see

1. I can scan wifi networks and it fails (often taking very long)

2. If it does ever finish the scan it will automatically select the dongle which I am not already connected to. Additionally, the app always finds a single dongle even though I have 2 of them up and running

I have uploaded this video to share the experience of #1 above.

Inside I also demonstrate the previous app and connectivity works with it...

I was able to test, and you are correct, it does not load up any Wi-Fi networks. I am definitely reporting this immediately to our team. Thank you.

You have to make sure you are connected to the dongle network first before you scan. When you scan, the dongle is scanning for the Wi-Fi networks not the app. Therefore, if you are not connected to the dongle network first, it cannot scan any Wi-Fi networks.

@rayborbon
I was informed that you may need to disable your phone’s cellular network, so it doesn’t try to use mobile data and instead connects only to the Wi-Fi network.

The new app misreports consumption.

@eg4eric. I've reported the issue I'm seeing with misrepresented consumption numbers.
