@caesarv that's pretty much my take on it too. The old/current app shows you pretty much all the data with the exception of accumulating ac-coupling as solar input.
A better way to make a dumbed down version without killing usefulness to the geeks who want to see everything would be to add a display options setting with 3 or 4 settings. Have the default originally set to "home owner" then have "owner installer", then "owner maintainer" then "installer maintainer" or something along those lines.
I've gone to the extent to add a Raspberry Pi and a RS485 connection to get settings from my EG4 and have built displays on Home Assistant to show what my system is doing so I know quickly if anything is odd or how weather is limiting capabilities( like EV charging ).
Pretty but difficult to quickly obtain information is a no-go for me.
