Have an off-grid greenhouse in southern Indiana with the following setup
- EG4 3kW Off-Grid Inverter
- 10 Rich Solar Mega 200 Watt 24 Volt Solar Panels
- 1 EG4-LL Lithium Battery (V2) | 48V 100AH
- 2 EG4 LL-S Lithium Batteries | 48V 100AH
Was a complete noob and made a lot of mistakes at first, such as severely underestimating how many batteries I needed. Started with one then learned I should probably have around 3 days worth of kWh stored in batteries. I have that now but winter weather not cooperating and finding it hard to keep the batteries charged enough. Fortunately, I have two generators, a small 2kW and a larger 8kW to top things up when short winter days and abundantly cloudy weather prevent a full solar charging.
Been running the system for about a month now and have been experiencing the following problems.
- EG4 3kW Off-Grid Inverter randomly stops sending battery power to the loads. Have to power cycle the inverter to get it to start again (see attached inverter-no-AC-out.jpg)
- small 2kW generator works fine but takes way too long to charge everything. I get about 25% for 3 hours of generator run time.
- larger 8kW generator worked at first (see attached 8k-genny.jpg) and I was super happy. Now, not so much as the inverter flakes out when the 8kW generator is running (see 8k-genny-problem.mov)
Looking for guidance & feedback please.
THANKS for reading 🙂
Could you post the firmware version from the LCD display?
Also, on setting 3, is the GNE setting available?
I do not have the Generator option for Setting 3.
