I am having the same issue with the adapter. I get a fault when trying to update the 485. I deleted the files on the adater and loaded them again with the same fault result.
My batteries are LL-S 48V 100AH

I was told today that the RS485 bin file is the update for the battery screen so I am not going to worry about it until I get my laptop hooked up.
Where the hell do you find instructions on how to use this updater? I just received it, there's nothing in the box, I can't find anything in the knowledge hub on SS website. It was easy enough to purchase but it'd be keen to include some instructions somewhere. Thanks!
Plug the updater into your computer and download the .hex file and .bin file off the EG4 website under battery firmware.
After you have uploaded those files onto the updater get a portable power bank and plug it into the usb c port on the updater.
Make sure all comm cables are unplugged from the battery. Turn off battery breaker & BMS.
Power the updater on with the power bank and then plug the ethernet cable into the battery comm on the battery.
Select comm update on the device by hitting the left button and hit update. When the update light starts to flash turn on the battery BMS.
After about 3 minutes you should get a success light. Turn off the battery BMS.
Switch the ethernet cable to the 485 input on the battery and repeat the process selecting the 485 button on the device.
There are a couple videos on YouTube showing the process. A great one is by Ian M Burke.
@texas-randy Thanks, I had to call SS and have them walk me through it once I was able to find the link for the user manual download.
