I don't see the 3000-EHV on the compatible list.

Compatible with EG4 18kPV, 12kPV, FlexBOSS21, FlexBOSS18, 6000XP, and 12000XP, along with the EG4 GridBOSS.

The 3000EHV (Legacy Product) uses a second-party app and dongle. The new dongles are only compatible with the newer inverters.

Your WiFi dongle on the EG4 requires not only your home WiFi signal to be good but it also requires your home WiFi router have a working internet connection. So, if you have a local power outage and you are using something like ATT for your ISP(Internet Service Provider) and the big noisy box at the end of the street is without power then the EG4/Wifi will not have a connection to the Internet and can't send your inverter data to EG4 servers so that your phone app works.  Your phone will use cellular wireless for Internet and will be able to connect to EG4 servers but you see no data.

If you had a cellular based hotspot and had your EG4/Wifi connect to it, then you could see your inverter data during a power outage.

You also might have your home WiFi on your special backup circuit but what about the ATT modem or any other network equipment required for Internet access.

There was no mention of AT&T, so why is that even mentioned?

My Internet and internal network system is not affected by power outages. They are on a battery backup. As mentioned in the first post.

Last outage was spent doing work from home and watching movies on my Plex server.

Research fiber network infrastructure and why they aren't affected by power outages.

As I gathered, yes, EG4 has an Ethernet dongle, but isn't relevant to my search for a product that will work correctly. When the power is out, the app sees the device but reports no information.

The EG4 has power, the network has power, but I can't check the status of PV or battery %.

So I don't understand the post above saying, yeah we have an Ethernet adapter, and then neglect to mention it isn't for older models.....

Instead there is one solution that allows a third party app that apparently EG4 has no oversight on, or have a sense of creating a proper app of their own. Yet, it's still a selling point of the product.

It's been fun guys, but I believe I will find my answers elsewhere.....
