Hello,

I recently installed new Solar Panel System, I have 52 Solar Jinko 425W, Sol Ark 15K and  QTY 3 EG4 Wall Mount Pro.

Initially I only bought 2 EG4 Wall Pros. I decided to buy an additional Battery. We received this Battery in Protection Mode. several time it went out of protection mode when I connected it to the other batteries via Battery Com port and started Charging. When it started discharging it went again into protection mode. I rebooted the BMS but still locked. Called Tech Support spoke to Jacob and he managed to send the communication wire. I looked at the individual Battery mV. There is 1 cell no. 9 is significantly less then the others. It reads 1088 vs 3332. Still waiting for the cable so I can connect to the BMS and call tech support. But if my understanding is correct that I have a bad cell then the battery is defective and should be replaced. Will continue per tech support to call once I get the cable. Thanks

Good afternoon @Bluetrader222

It sounds like a bad cell to me as well. I would recommend calling back in to technical support as soon as you can to start that RMA process. Your distributor would be the one to issue the RMA, so if you purchased from Signature Solar, Current Connected, or Canadian Off-Grid etc., then you would need to give them a call.

Working with the distributor to get this replaced. The other 2 batteries I have are impressive. Thank you EG4 for making them.

Thank YOU for buying them! Glad you are enjoying the batteries!

Sorry about the bad cell. I will speak with QC about it and see what we can do to make this better.

Today I went back to the battery to check on it and it went back in protection mode. I went on the onsite screen to the cells to see the mV and notice Cell 9 goes up and down. Yesterday it was 1088mV and now 2250mV. Its sporadic. Even as I look at the screen the voltage goes up/down and the breaker is off.  Working with Jacob from Tech support and Matt from Zona Energy. Why would mV go up and down drastically on one cell? Could there be an internal connection/short issue? Sorry to ask this but is there any safety concern that I need to move it away from the residence that can cause a fire? Took 2 videos that shows the voltage up/down while all other cell remain constant.

@bluetrader222 I believe that if it is not a bad cell, then it could be a loose Battery Harness. I wouldn't think it would be a danger at the moment, but I would definitely disconnect it from the others just to make sure we are not charging/discharging the battery while we figure out what is going on.

I have shared your post with our Battery QA team, and will be speaking to them directly here in just a moment.

As soon as I know what exactly is happening here, I will get back to you.

Thanks!
