EG4!! You guys need to stop to leaving your Signature Solar team in the dark!!!! I have been working with Signature to try and get some firmware or ANYTHING on this issue remedied and they are basically in the dark from EG4 (huh?) What are you guys doing over there??? Designing the next Cuisinart?

Just installed a 12000XP and everything runs well, except a key part - every morning after dawn the PV input is displayed at ~120V (should be ~360v) and is pulling a very low wattage. I have to open the PV disconnect on the right side of the inverter and wait for everything to drop to 0, then close the disconnect and all goes back to normal at 360V and normal wattage displayed. I had a 12KPV and a 6500EX in the same spot with the same PV connections, no issue at all.

And another thing. What's with confounded apps and wifi for everything? The last thing we want is another app on our phones!!! STOP!! I have no problem working off a PC laptop. These inverters are no where near any kind of wifi or internet source. Just give us a ZIP or RAR file and let us fix the problem!! Stop making it so complicated!!!! NO MORE APPS!!!!!!!

-Your friendly Montana installer,
Chris

We definitely apologize for any inconvenience caused by the 120V PV bug. The standard update for the 12000XP, which directly addresses the MPPT getting stuck, was released this morning. It is currently available through the monitoring site and will soon be accessible for local updates via the app. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this.

More information over the update changes can be found here:

There is no link to the firmware file on eg4's website. Please provide a link. What is the monitoring site?

The inverter would need to be connected to the internet to be able to update through the monitoring website. However, this can be done through the maintenance tab.

The inverters are not anywhere near a location that can have any kind of internet. This is an OFF GRID inverter... people who are off grid do not want WIFI!
Where is the zip file? Why is this so hard?

@chrisneibauer I understand the difficulty.  I too live off grid, luckily, I have Starlink and that makes things easier.

In this situation the easiest solution would be to install the EG4 app on a cell phone.  Link it to the inverter, go to someplace that has cell service.  Using the app, download the updates. Return to the location and perform the update using the app.

It would be cool if EG4 could port the app to the windows store so that it could be used on a PC but for now this is one suggestion.

Best of luck,

JB

OK so I ran 300ft of ethernet cable down to the inverter with an internet connection to the laptop to try and connect via the dongle to no avail. It won't refresh or add the inverter / dongle. I have connected to the dongle via wifi and have a wired ethernet connection to internet. What more do you want, monitoring website? I have given you everything!!!!

@chrisneibauer To perform a remote firmware update the inverter itself needs to be connected to the internet.  Otherwise, it will need to be updated "locally" through the app.  At least that is my understanding.
