Hello,

Having trouble getting set points for gen charging FLA batteries.

I can get it to start and stop using SOC but can't monitor the SOC with the inverter set to Lead Acid.  If i choose by voltage, it either gets to my charge voltage then doesnt float at all, or cycles between near (but not at) my float point and charge point every minute or so, and doesnt shut off then gen.  It's also maddening that I have AC charge parameters that I dont need,  but zero generator parameters in the phone app.

Off grid, no AC in except generator

No solar hooked up yet

6000XP

16 trojan L16s (800AH capacity, aiming for never getting down to 50%)

Northern lights 9kw diesel gen.

There seem to be no settings for an absorption charge time.

I'd also really like to see a generator start (like the quick charge button), as well as a way to read what seems to be a calculated lead acid SOC.

I feel like there is a ton of potential here but at the moment I'm frustrated.  It seems like there are more gen/ac settings in the LCD on the inverter than there are in the app or webpage.

I apologize for the delay. Could you export the data and settings for this system so I can investigate further? If this isn’t possible due to the recent installation of another inverter, please DM the inverter's serial number, and I’ll see what I can find.

I was thrilled to see this community starting up since I was having problems. 10 days and just one reaction from Jarrett but no info?  I've also contacted CurrentConnected but not learned anything new- to recap for the community my conversation with them, there is no SOC for lead acid batteries, and no absorption phase.  Also no help in getting my generator to shut off, instead it charges for about an hour, then cycles every couple minutes between charge and idle/powering my ~150W AC loads.  This is really NOT good for a generator. It also never matches my charge or generator start voltage settings.

Super frustrated, so I just ordered a different inverter from an established brand, which explicitly supports configurable lead acid multi-stage charging, for only a few hundred dollars more, however it is missing the dual MPPT charge controllers and all the nice pre-wired disconnects and circuit breakers the EG4 seemed to have done so well.  I'll keep the EG4 as backup and hope a firmware update addresses these issues.

Hi Jared, thanks for the reply-I know you're all busy.  Attached are my exports - to make it easier to find what I'm talking about, take a look in the Excel file at rows 101-170.  The generator came on ~5:00AM, and I had to change the settings (lowering the voltage for Gen-Stop)  ~ 8:30AM because the charge/discharge was just cycling.

The settings PDF is not exactly as it was during this time- I lowered the Gen-Stop voltage to get it to stop.

ok - now I can't get files to upload "File Type not allowed" for Excel, PDF, or zip of them.

Testing will be conducted by our R&D department, and once more information or a solution is available, we will make sure it’s posted.

hey @Jared any follow up on this?  If not, I may have a 6000XP for sale to anyone with lithium batteries and not primarily generator charging.  As it is, it's not usable long term for me.

Again, though, all my problems are solvable by software/programming- the hardware is capable and nicely set up, except for the low DC charging max voltage.  Lead acid should be equalized at 62v and the limit is 59v for the 600PXP.

@dan_in_ak I currently do not have more information on the testing. However, I will post additional information as soon as it is available to me.
