Hi community.
Can anybody help me with an issue I am having with my EG4 6000XP? It has been running smoothly since Feb 2015 coupled with a 51.2V 100Ah rack battery V4. Then I bought another battery of the same type. During the day, after the old batt was completely charged, I mounted the new one and started charging it. I didn't turn off the inverter to do that operation as it was the same everything. Then, after sun started going down I started getting inverter shutdowns and after a couple of seconds it starts again. Then I compared two batteries and realized that the can protocol was not the same. I adjusted the new battery and the same happened: checking the inverter log I see the error code is 18(internal communication fault). Then I went back to the old battery and after a while: boom! Again error 18. Can anybody tell what happened and then how to fix it? Thanks in advance.
Can you share your inverter's serial number so I can look at the error message and look for what has caused this to happen?
Was the code 18 a warning or a fault?
It could be because the batteries didn't have the proper protocol, however, I will have to look further into this.

After the error of yesterday (what bothers me is that shuts down the power for a moment) didn't repeat the issue. Today I decided to hook up both batts in parallel leaving the older as host or id:1 as only gave me one error instead of the other gave it two times. Then it repeated again the error but haven't happened again so far.
The 18 code is error. Not warning.
Thanks a lot and waiting for any response. 🙂

Do you have the inverter connected to the internet through the dongle?
That's a good sign, that it hasn't happened again.

No. I don't even have the dongle installed.
The error hasn't happened again but still worries me. Let's hope doesn't repeat again. If so, then I will update this thread. Thanks a lot.

You can connect the dongle to it and if it does happen again, we have it recorded, and I will be able to look into the issue.
