Important Update: LCD Version 18 Firmware

So I installed the so-called correct version you linked above but now my 6kw panels are apparently outputting 45kW...a neat trick for a firmware update!  Did someone misplace a decimal point?  Are these firmware versions ever tested?

@caesarv This LCD update was released more quickly than usual to address the original v18 issue. I will make sure this bug is reported to our team for correction. Once I receive the updated version, I’ll update the post above and mention it in the thread.

Thanks Jared.  Having worked in the high tech field for many years, I am very familiar with firmware update issues.  Which leads me to ask if there is a repository of older firmware for your products.  You should always have one or two older versions available so that customers can go back if the latest has some significant bug.

Update: Firmware version 1E1E is necessary to support LCD v18 for the 18kPV and 12kPV models.

@jared Are there release notes for this firmware someplace?  It would be nice to see what issues are being addressed before doing the update.

On the monitoring sight go to maintenance, remote update and click on the "?"

new window opens, click on "Check More"

new page opens --> pick your inverter and it shows the historical change log.

I have noticed that sometimes the change log may not show up right away in the list, but I never update right away either so no big issue for me.

Otherwise, I have noticed that on the forum here, EG4 has done good at posting the changelog when they post the new firmware.

However, I will see if I can find change log information for the LCD display.

LCD V18

1. Changed the Gen overload on the alarm error page to AC overload.
2. Changed the Meter type to Meter brand on advance interface.
3. Modified the power unit display on the LCD homepage from W to 0.1kW.
4. Added the GridBoss connection icon display on the homepage.
5. Added the GridBoss enable setting on the Advance page.
6. Added the inverter parallel icon on homepage.
7. Added the fault code of GridBoss Breaker open.
8. Added the SN number and LCD version number in the bottom right corner of the Fault Status, Alarm Status, Fault record, and Alarm record pages.
9. Added the generator power display (Pgen) in the Grid page of the data page.
10. Added the PV total power display in parallel system on the homepage

Thanks for posting the V18 changes.  I downloaded the release from the link provided, but I have no idea what to do with the downloaded files. I didn't see any doc included with them, and there isn't any mention of LCD Firmware in the 18K manual or 15K quick start guide.

Or, if I just keep looking at the Auto Reload list on Monitor Remote Update page, will the LCD Firmware eventually appear there, and then I can start the update from there?  I'm not in any rush to do the update, just trying to keep current.

@joel-brodeur  Thanks for the reply.  I did as you explained and found the list.  That's progress.  But the new firmware version didn't appear on the remote update page until after I installed it.  I was hoping to see the changes before doing the update.

I’d also like to note that we’ve encountered some issues with the LCD update when using PNY-branded thumb drives.

In the next update...  If you could put a space or two between the V reading and the KW reading.  Right now it all runs together.
