Here is my intended use case:

if my prime generator fails to start on some cold wintery day and I need to swap to a backup gen that has a higher harmonic distortion I would like to include a chargeverter into my system.

I want my inverter to be the control for the close loop communication not the chargeverter.

I want it completely manual - NO gen-start on it, as my backup gen does not have 2-wire start.

I just want the chargeverter to charge the batteries until they are full and then stop charging even if the gen continues to run.

Is that possible?

Also, if it is possible, what would be the best method for wiring to the batteries.  Neg to one battery and pos to the other battery? or just neg and pos to the same battery?

Thanks,

JB

I run the CV completely independent of the inverter as I also do not have a 2 wire start. You have to manually turn off the Gen after the CV completes a voltage charge.

Thank you, Ron.

If the Gen continues to run after the batteries have been charged, does the CV stop charging them?

Say I start the gen, get sidetracked, and am not around when the batteries have topped off and I don't notice it for an hour or so afterwords?

Thanks,

JB
