I have a new installation including a Grid Boss, 3 Flex Bosses, and 4 wall-mount batteries.  Smart port 4 is powering a sub-panel for my shop.  I would like it to be powered when battery SOC is above 30% without grid power and at any battery voltage if grid is present.  What are the correct settings to make that happen?  I have it configured as follows:
- Smart load 4 Enable ENABLE
- Smart load 4 Grid Always On ENABLE
- Smart Load 4 Use Shedding Mode ENABLE
- Smart Load 4 Start & End SOC(%) 100 30
- Smart Load 4 Start Time 1-3 all 00:00
- Smart Load 4 End Time 1-3 all 00:00

When I test by turning off the grid breaker in the Grid Boss, smart port 4 turns off until I turn the grid breaker back on.  I checked with Signature Solar tech support, and they changed Smart load 4 Grid Always On to FALSE, which caused smart port 4 to turn off at all times.

Any suggestions?

Hello Larry! I am a representative with Signature Solar. To keep the smart load active when grid is turned off, the "Grid always on" setting must be disabled, and the start and end times must be set. You can set a 24 hour time period using the times 0:00 for start and 23:59 for stop. Regarding battery SOC settings, there is only one range you can set whether grid is on or off. You can set the start and stop points for the smart port based on battery SOC using 100% for start and 30% for stop. Once those changes have been made, the smart load should have power as 24 hours a day as long as the battery is above 30%. If you have any further questions you're welcome to reach out to the Signature Solar Technical Support Team at 9034412090, option 3, and we'll be happy to assist!
