How often does SmartESS update the kWhr total for the day ?

I finally got my SmartESS to talk to an eg4-3k, and started poking around in the data. The PV and Battery power update every 5 minutes per settings... But I can't see how or when to get updates on the daily production, or use, total in kWhr.

I did find  the graph by day, which updates every 5 minutes, but it updates Power, not kWhr total.

I changed the graph to view by month, and the bars are showing daily total power generation, but "todays" bar does not seem to update. Is it possible to force an update, or set an auto-update period? I would have thought it would follow the parameter in settings and update every 5 minutes?

I'd really like to see the running total/graph of production and use for "today" in kWhr.... How can I do this?

I found a video demonstrating the data you can access. It appears that you can view the kWh for the month and year, but it doesn’t mention daily kWh

@eg4eric The issue is that you can get total kWhr production for a day, but not until the NEXT day. There is no way to see an accurate running total of kWhr in and out if you are configured open loop use generic batteries. In fact there is nowhere to enter nominal battery capacity.... so battery SOC% cannot possibly be accurate unless it magically resets to 100% and starts counting each time end-of-charge voltage is hit. (56v for a 48v nominal lithium battery).

I understand. Since this is a second-party app, we are unable to make direct changes ourselves, but we can submit your request to the company that developed it.

@eg4eric ok.... just letting you know that:

- setup documentation is not very good

- information available to view does not include values critical for off-grid use. I don't see any way to get an accurate SOC% or actual kWhr remaining real-time with a lithium battery running open loop communication from the eg4-3k. This *could* be calculated, but there is nowhere in SmartESS to enter nominal capacity.

- I am using open loop comm because I didn't see how to configure the eg4-3k with Midnite-pf-5 batteries, and I really don't like to use rs232 cables for comm in off-grid situations that are potentially dirty/dusty.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention and I will pass this along as well to our team for review.

The 3000EHV is only compatible with certain batteries. If you can set the battery protocol with one of the following protocols, you could possibly get communication.

@eg4eric The point is that I WANT to use open loop "USE" protocol for off-grid reliability. The problem is that with Open Loop, the SmartESS software is not very smart, and does not calculate SOC% or track actual kWhr in/out of the battery.
