I have a Gillette SPH 120 (12kw) propane generator that has a 50 amp breaker.  According to the EG418Kpv manual is states:

The 18kPV can accept up to 90 Amps (21kWs) of generator power and will pass through all available

power to the loads. Therefore, the Loads subpanel can be sized up to the size of the backup generator

with a 60 Amp minimum per inverter. (See Wiring Diagrams in section 6)

So, my question is will the inverter take the charge from my generator since I have the "Batt Charge Current Limit" set a 50 Adc which is 10 Ads under the minimum?

You are mixing AC amps and DC amps. Look at the specs again and then re-state your question. 90 amps AC @ 240VAC = 21,600 watts. 50 amps DC @ 56VDC = 2,800 watts.

Batt Charge Current Limit = 50 is very low. What power level are you intending for battery charging?
