Hola Amigos,

I am looking for a way to have auto start/stop capabilities with a Flexboss 21 and my 2 eg4 14.3 kw wallmount batts. The house is Off grid and will have a propane Kohler 14kw generator . Is there a way for my flexboss 21 and generator to communicate to charge my batteries as needed without having to purchase a Gridboss.

Just to clarify ; completely off-grid home, approx 14kw of panels/ flexboss 21 / 2- eg4 14.3  wall batteries/Kohler 14kw propane generator

thanks

The FlexBoss21 is designed to work specifically with the GridBoss and does not include an input for a generator. To have communication between a generator and an inverter, a GridBoss is required. While you can charge the batteries without a GridBoss by using a chargeverter, keep in mind that this setup will not support automatic generator start/stop functionality.

Actually the Chargeverter-GC does a;;ow for communication with a battery pack and SOC/Volt setpoints for generator start.

However there are dry contacts on the flexboss .  I just have not figured out where they go?

Anybody know?

I also live off grid and have a Flexboss 21, 2 wall mount 14.3 kw battery pacs and 2 EG4 chargeverters. My generator backup is 13kw. Should I connect both chargeverters and batteries to one bus at or separate buss bars for each battery ?
Thanks

Jim

@a-tech

You can connect the 2 Chargeverters to the same set of Bus bars where the batteries are connected to.
