Eric,
Do you think you could try to get some traction on fixing the mobile app notifications for grid outage? This hasn't worked for me in over a year. I saw one notification on my phone when I first set up my system and tested it, so I know that it *can* work. But I've never seen another notification for any grid outages nor for my monthly EPS test when I disconnect the grid. I use Android, but I know that people with both Android and iPhone have the same problem.
FYI, I created a poll on FB to gauge how many people have this problem. 86% of the respondents also reported they do not get notifications, both on Android and iPhone. I can't state how many of those people have the notifications properly enabled on their phone, but this issue has come up numerous times in social media, and the proper settings are discussed/verified frequently.
I can't seem to create a link to the poll to give it to you here. You can find the poll under the Facebook group Signature Solar EG4 Users, posted by Jeff Lankford on Nov 30.
Thanks,
PS - the SOC level notifications don't work for me either, but I'm less concerned about that one.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I located the poll on Facebook and will share this information with my manager, and I will provide an update as soon as I have one.
I've tried everything others have suggested on my Android (and my Android tablet) to no avail. My app login doesn't stay connected for long and I have to force the app to stop and clear the cache in order to log back in. Not sure if this is related to not getting notifications, which I don't.
However, I did notice something odd about the app... not sure the term, but the app doesn't fully "register" on my phone. I use DND (do not disturb) mode for part of the day. The EG4 app does NOT show up in the phone app list to grant exception to allow notifications through during DND mode. I think this is a significant clue. I've even tried turning off DND entirely, restarted phone a couple times, still no luck.
Anyway, just wanted to offer this clue for techs to consider. Running Android 13 on Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I’ll share these details with our team so we can further investigate and work toward a resolution. We have seen similar issues reported by some Android users, so this information is helpful.
Our team is currently working on a new and improved app. Although we don’t have a release date to share yet, we’ll be sure to communicate updates as soon as one becomes available.

EG4 has released a new app called EG4 Connect app. This is a new app in the beta testing phase 2. This app is the new EG4 app that we will be using in the future. Due to that, there hasn't been any new updates or changes that I'm aware of on the EG4 Monitor app.
You can download the new app through the App store on both iPhone and Android.

Thanks Eric. I loaded the EG4 Connect app but could not find any notification settings. I went back into the original app (v. 1.6.7) to uncheck and recheck notifications for SOC and Grid Outage. I also updated my 6000XP to latest firmware. I am now getting SOC notifications, but not Grid outage, which makes me wonder if they're dependent on other settings. To test, my 6000XP is in AC First mode and I'm simply cutting power to the 6000XP at the circuit breaker and waiting 30 minutes. I'd like to see this working, but at least now I can set the SOC for notification.
