That’s mostly correct. However, you might find this link to our API documentation for monitoring helpful: https://eg4electronics.com/api-documentation/.

Additionally, it’s worth noting that the RS485 port and the Wi-Fi module share the same interface. As a result, using third-party apps through the RS485 port may lead to some loss of functionality.

From what I can tell, this api supports http get and post requests to  https://api.eg4electronics.com/api

And the requests are authenticated (presumably with the same auth  credentials that the EG4 cloud monitoring  uses.

The EG4 server uses port 8000 through the reverse tunnel to get the inverters data via Modbus TCP commands.

The original topic "system display pannel" asks how to do a local connection to an EG4 inverter. 

For a local connection, it appears that using Modbus TCP  to get/set  data is a requirement.

This is only my  "from what I can tell" interpretation.

For a minute I was excited  that I would be able to make requests to my EG4 18kpv via wifi  (http get and post requests).

@george-redinger  Regarding Chinese access to EG4 data, I do think we need clarity from EG4.
