I originally comissioned my system with 4 EG4 48v 100ah batteries. I've been watching and there is another branch called Eco Worthy that's caught my eye due to the low cost. About $870 per battery vs. the $1,200 price of another Eg4 battery.

My inverter is the 12Kpv. Can this thing handle having two different battery banks connected to it? Electricity-wise, thats not a problem. I'm wondering about communicating with the 12kpv. Or does it require a battery bank where all batteries are the same communication-wise?

Thanks,

Paul

EG4 batteries are not designed to operate or communicate with other battery brands. While it may be possible for them to function together, it is not recommended. If you choose to proceed, the most reliable method for integrating EG4 batteries with Eco Worthy batteries is to set the inverter to Lead Acid mode which would be open loop communication (charging and discharging by voltage).
