New thread for a narrowed problem.
I'm wanting to know if EG4 is working on this problem (and I should wait for a new firmware) or if it's not being addressed because there's not enough data, or not enough customers encountering it.
Problem
When charging with solar and the charging current is limited by the BMS when the batteries are nearly or totally full, the 6000XP will frequently throw an EPS Overload Warning (and go into Grid Bypass) with very small loads (even as low as 200W).
Facts
- The loads are not high (happens even at 200-300w loads), so the "EPS Overload" is definitely incorrect
- It's related to solar charging, turning off the physical solar disconnect immediately fixes the problem 100%
- Only happens more frequently when the solar charger is limiting the current from the MPPTs
- Never seems to happen when solar output is ramping down at the end of the day because of reduced sunlight
- Associated with systems that use a battery with a lower voltage range (40-50v), but it's not *because* of the low voltage as the inverter performs perfect without solar connected
Here's a great capture of it happening on my system:
- Red is Grid and thus the bumps highlight when Grid Bypass is on because of EPS overload warnings
- EPS Overloads start happening as soon as capacity is high and solar charging is limited by the BMS
- In the middle of the day I turned off the solar disconnect and they stop happening for 3 hours
- They start again immediately when I turned on the solar disconnect
