Why does the app and web browser monitor show electricity being exported rather than imported?

I just got my EG4 18k inverter up and running with three PV arrays and an EG4 battery. Since I’m awaiting an inspection and change out of my utility meter my export to the grid is set for zero, the inverter is set to self consumption, and operationally power is flowing the way it’s supposed to prioritizing PV to house, PV to battery, and zero export off grid mode. CTs are installed in my main panel box and the flow arrows are properly aligned. However, when the PV and battery are insufficient to meet load requirements and the system draws from the grid the monitor program shows power being exported rather than imported. I know for a fact that power isn’t being exported because it’s nighttime and the battery is at shutoff SOC.

I don’t love the graphics on the overview page and apparently I’m not the only one, but this is plain wrong. Is this simply a matter of the CT placement? I tried checking the CT reversal box and that made no difference.

Update… Reversing the CT checkbox seems to have done the trick, though it took a while for the monitor program to reflect the change.

you might try flipping CTs so the other side of the donut is toward the inverter

If you’re selling power back to the grid, make sure the CTs are installed between the meter and the main panel. If you’re not selling back, they can be installed between the inverter and the main panel. In both cases, ensure the arrows on the CTs are pointing toward the inverter.
