Mounted a new 6000XP yesterday with a single LL type battery(I know they recommend two but the distributor said one would work). The inverter powers up fine off the battery alone(54 ish volts registered to terminal posts and no faults) but shows 0% on the battery. I set it to Li-on battery type and manufacturer EG4 and plugged in battery com cable. Rebooted whole system and battery a few times, no luck.

It has no issue showing the two string of PV coming in, but even with EPS button depressed and showing EPS enabled, AC power generated to the load breaker in the on position.

This is my third 6000XP install and the previous ones were trouble free, program battery type and walk away .... appreciate some advice.

Addition question, client has a 120v 30amp line they want to run up this inverter as AC IN. I tried it for kicks to the GEN breaker on L1. Will this work as backup when the battery runs low since the unit is generating 240. Am I better off with putting in on GRID breaker L1 or will both of these efforts fail and they need to run a 240 line out to the unit as backup instead.

What stands out to me is that the BMS is showing an SOC of 0%. I suggest trying a BMS reset by holding the reset button for 10 seconds with the battery powered on. Additionally, set the inverter to lead-acid mode to check if the issue might relate to the BMS. If communication with the inverter fails after the BMS reset but you can still power loads in lead-acid mode, this could indicate a faulty BMS. Also, verify that the protocol is set to CAN EG4/LUX for the battery, and that the Lithium Brand setting is 0 or 1.

With only one 100aH battery present, you are limited to the maximum discharge of 100A from the server racks BMS. I would recommend having the discharge current limit set to 100A instead of the default 140A on the 6000XP.

When the 120V input is being used, you would be limited to a 120V output on the same leg. For example, if the 120V input is connected to L1, you would only have output on L1 while bypassing to the grid or AC charging.

Jared,   thank you for the suggestions. I will do the BMS reset and then if that fails try lead acid mode. For the 120v input, I am thinking to just wire L1 to power the main panel and jumper to the second leg so that the whole system is basically just 120v(which is what they had before with their old 120v inverter anyways). Question, are you by chance able to log into the inverter, I did attempt to put it online and got the 3 green bars that says it is communicating with the server. Had some doubts if EG4 can access direct though since the account I used was prior set up to Signature. Its the power plant named papalani, not the one named cabin, that is associated with my email id.

I noticed that the station was set to GMT +10 while the user account was set to GMT -10. I adjusted the station's time zone to match the user account and HST so that the data graphs reported appropriately.
