Question Start PV Power Setting is Being Ignored

I can't get Smart Load to work as configured in my 6000XP.  I want it enabled when I'm getting at least 1KW from the panels and the battery is at 53v, but instead, regardless of what the panel out put is, it just completely ignores the "Start PV Power" setting.

I can even set it to 20, which is far more power than what the 6000XP could ever deliver, and it still triggers.

The "Grid Always On" setting doesn't seem to affect the results.

I thought perhaps Smart Load was an either/or trigger rather than a both/and trigger, so I tried setting the voltage to 59v (which my battery can't reach) and Smart Load would never trigger.

Is there something I'm doing wrong here?

For what it's worth, there is no grid attachment.

In order for the Smart load to be active, the inverter will need to detect the 1kW of PV and also the battery voltage will need to be under the Smart Load Start Voltage and above the Smart Load End Voltage.

Right, that's my understanding.  The problem is, it could be late afternoon where I'm only getting ~300W of PV yet Smart Load turns on anyway.

The part where it's particularly confusing is the following scenario:

  • The PV power setting is 1KW (or even some impossible number like 20KW), smart load battery end voltage is 51v, and smart load battery start voltage is 53v
  • The battery is currently at 50.9v charging from only getting 300W of PV power
  • The battery then reaches 51v and PVs are still only outputting around 300W.  Smart Load delivers power through the GEN port.

Why is Smart Load engaging in those conditions?  There isn't enough PV power.
