Hello Hello! I do not have my system as yet, should be here tomorrow, I do have a few questions for the sizeable knowledge pool here tho, After careful review of the available information on this topic, wiring of signal dry contacts to a portable generator, I have concluded that due to both push button switch wires being white, this indicates a floating neutral in which case the polarity is a non event. Also this would be a normally open circuit. Looking for any other input and /Or challenge to this take before wiring to my 18kpv. Thanks in advance!
I wired my 18kPV to my Honeywell generator. I had to buy a Generac two-wire start modification kit from Generac/honeywell and then run two wires to the “dry contacts” at the 18kPV inverter. The polarity of these wires on my system is NOT RELEVANT - the generator just watches for a connection between them. Your generator may be different but no way to know without more info. For my system I could have put in almost any household switch instead of wiring to the inverter (for manual mode) but one of the reasons I bought the 18kPV was for the generator control ability! Hope that helps.
