Hi there,

I have (2) 6000xps in parallel connected to (2) EG4 Powerpro indoor wall mount batteries. I have a Kohler RES12K generator and unsure what value should I use for Max. Generator Input Power(W) setting when re-charging the batteries.  I have solar input but this time of year and if I have a few cloudy days, I like to top off the batteries.  Should I just set that to 12,000 and forget it? I read that generators like to operate at 70-80% load. I also want to not be wasting propane. My EPS house load is usually low like 400W.

Thanks,

Ed

I see the inverter limits the wattage to 90% of what you enter, but I'm not sure how that all works with 2 inverters.

The 12RESVL Rated kW LP 12 kW Rated kW NG 11 kW

Inverter ADC is 0-110, but not sure with 2 inverters

Your generator is capable of 210 adc @57 volts

It really depends on the generator's THD rating. It might be beneficial to enable GEN Boost and operate the generator at around 50-70% capacity to ensure the cleanest power delivery. With GEN Boost activated, if the load exceeds the generator’s output, battery power and PV power will supplement the load until it drops back below the generator's maximum capacity.

Only thing I could find quickly online for 12RESVL

  • High Quality Power. Kohler generators provide advanced voltage and frequency regulation along with ultra-low levels of harmonic distortion for excellent generator power quality to protect your valuable electronics.

@ron According to this document - G4-254 - it looks like all they say is "Total harmonic distortion (THD) from no load to full load with a linear load is less than 5%."
