Generator charging problems

Hi everyone! I have been running an EG4 18KPV setup with 3 EG4 indoor wall mount batteries for an off-grid home for about a year and a half with no problems. The generator is a kohler 12kw propane and it's been running around 11kw on the monitor. Yesterday was the first time this fall that the inverter called for the generator to charge and it was only inputing 3kw. I double checked settings and everything looks normal. The generator is putting out 239V at 60Hz.

So this morning I did the latest update and now when I command the dry contacts on it starts and runs but has no input on the EG4 monitor. The generator screen is showing normal voltage and Hz. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Did you update the LCD firmware as well?

@eg4eric Hi Eric, I did not update the LCD firmware. I talked to someone in tech support that day and they told me to check all the settings as they may have changed during the update.

I ended up enabling the Volts as the control for the charging instead of the SOC setting and it started working just fine.

I will try to update the LCD also. Thanks for the quick response!

Keep me posted on the update, if it changed anything.

I'm having the same problem w/ the same equipment! It's terrible. The inverter triggers the generator to start but it's not connecting at all or is running load only. Other times, it works fine. What is the deal!? How has yours been running?
