outage blips Flexboss21 + gridboss21

I had a GridBOSS and FlexBOSS21 installed with 3 14.3kWh outdoor batteries in May 2025. The system performed flawlessly as a backup power system, taking over during grid loss seamlessly. One little problem was that my electrician installed it with aluminum. Fast forward to today and recently had my GridBOSS reinstalled with copper and 14kW of PV installed.

I have had major issues since these two changes manifesting in several short 1-2 second power outages that occur several times a day. I have played with a lot of different software settings but have not been able to get rid of these outages. I am starting to wonder if some of my connections are not torqued to spec and that could be causing the issue. Or if I have a relay issue in the GridBOSS.

I am currently operating with only grid power and the FlexBoss's breaker in the off position. When I turn the FlexBoss breaker on, the power cycles from grid to the inverter and back again within minutes and with power outages each time.

I'm having a very difficult time getting hold of signature solar's support, lots of time on hold, which is a big change from a few weeks ago when I would get a tech on the phone within 30 seconds. So I am posting here Smile

Hi There

I have similar same story with my 6000xp and EG4 wall mount battery setup with 3.4kW PV array. It developed 5 months after system installation.

I have tried all possible settings, upgraded inverter firmware, even RMA the inverter and replaced with new one. I have cycled the battery  100-0-100% SoC few times in open loop comms mode (Lead Acid battery setting) and problem still persist.

I suspect there is some comms issue with Wall Mount battery BMS. My next step is to update BMS firmware, but will need SS to sed me the RS232 comms cable.

SOLUTION  (not ideal)  - operate the systems in Lead Acid battery mode - no single power blip ever.

The SoC is missing from the app, but I can leave with that. I got confirmation from SS that EG4 Wall mount battery can be operated in Lead Acid mode and charged to 100% every day, so I just calculate in my the the SoC basis the EG4 monitoring app reported Battery discharge "kWh discharged today". It is pretty accurate in comparison to the Wall mount battery LCD SoC readings.

Hope above solution works in your case.

Brgds

K

I recommend checking all your wires and make sure they aren't loose.

Do you have a wiring diagram for your system? If so, can you share it so we can look and see if we catch anything that could be causing the issue.

I have been having the same problem. My FlexBoss21, GridBoss  and wall battery went online in November. No hardware changes but I took the advice on the EG4 YouTube video and got EG4 support to walk me through an updated Firmware install. After a few calls because my system went almost all the way down, they had me Reboot the system. That was on Friday 7/18 and it got the system running like it was after I was walked through a Reboot Solar exercise.

Then on Saturday my blackouts started. One on Saturday, two on Sunday, one Monday and Tuesday, all at different times. I've worked with two technicians at EG4 with lots of Enable/Disable changes made to no avail. I'm going to do a Reboot one time today and if that doesn't work we've discussed returning my system to the old firmware.

I've attached a jpg of my weekly Ting (Friday and Saturday only) report that shows the Friday Reboot and the Saturday outages.
