RSD Button press cuts power to home

When we test RSD on a 1x Gridboss + 1x Flexboss21 system with the whole home in backup, we find that power to the home is cut when the RSD button is pressed. We deliberately don't include the Gridbsoss in the RSD circuit, we leave the jumper in. We did this in hopes of avoiding cutting power to the home when RSD is accidentally pressed. The AHJs only care that the RSD shuts down the ESS/solar, as first responders separately turn the home's main breaker off anyway.  Would love to understand why this happens!

I have an 18Kpv installed as a whole house backup (entire 200A service runs through the 18K). RSD shuts of all power to the house. This is expected since RSD causes the battery banks and the inverter to fully power down. Since the default position for the grid relays in the inverter are open (i.e. no pass through) until software boots up and closes the relays, it's expected for all pass-through power to be lost when RSD is pressed.

I expect that the software logic for the Gridboss is the same (grid relays default open). I can't comment on what it means that you left the gridboss out of the "RSD circuit." In my understanding, the RSD action is propagated throughout the entire system via the RJ45 comm cables, from whatever device initiated the RSD.

Do you have an external RSD initiator/button?

@potrero - I'm in exactly the same boat (GB, FB21, 2x outdoor batts) and see the same behavior.  I see no good reason WHY the RSD to the inverter should cut power to the house.  I've kept the RSD wiring only connected to the Flexboss inverter, but clearly it's communicating over the two ethernet cables to the Gridboss.

This is a HUGE security issue.  If someone hits the RSD button, the alarm system, cameras, fridge, and everything else connected to "backup loads" goes off.

@eg4eric is there any way to disable this behavior?  The only other option I see is to use the bypass on the Gridboss, but then if the Grid is down, I'm not convinced the Gridboss won't open the relay from the inverters to the grid.

Perhaps this is a "huge security issue", but for a normal house that does not have these systems at all, with the main service disconnect for the house being outside and readily accessible as required, isn't this always a security issue unless you have some sort on UPS on your critical devices?
